Annotated Laws of Singapore is a new flagship collection of legal commentary on Singapore legislation written by legal experts. These explanatory notes provide section-by-section analysis to the provisions contained in each Act or statute.
It covers background to the legislation where relevant such as enactment history, objective to be achieved by the legislation and Explanatory Statements from the reading of the Bill in Parliament. It provides elaboration on words and phrases defined statutorily and comparative legislation in other jurisdictions as applicable. Cross-references to other provisions of the Act and to other relevant legislation as well as citations of Singapore and foreign cases from other jurisdictions are also included.
